STYLISTS Renee Boomer Renee is the Owner of Affinity Salon & Spa since 2003. She has been involved with hair design and color for over 16 years. Renee's specialties include but are not limited to: Special Occasion Services including Bride Styles, Bridal Parties, Queen Contestants and Formal Affairs. Renee is certified in eyelash extensions, make-up applications and make-up lessons. Renee is a mother of two, and enjoys exercise, the beach, being with her sons, family and hanging out with her friends. Jacqueline Demski Jacqueline attended the Douglas J Aveda Institute for cosmetology in 2002. She has been part of the Affinity team for 6 years. She has had one of her Bride Styles published in Martha Stewart Wedding magazine. Her specialties include but are not limited to hair color, hair cuts & formal styles. Kendra Rue Kendra has been a hair stylist for 5 years receiving her training from Twin City Beauty College. After graduating in 2005 she obtained her cosmetology license and started her career at a few local salons before finding a home at Affinity. Kendra’s services include most salon services specializing in formal styles, haircuts, color, and also offers some waxing and nail services. A lifetime resident of Southwest Michigan, Kendra is always eager to educate her clients about their hair choices and options. Striving to give the best of herself so that each person leaves with straightforward information, sound advice and most importantly the perfect look! When Kendra is not behind the chair, she enjoys spending her time outdoors with her son, going to the beach, talking walks, volunteering for local charities such as Relay For Life, and loves chocolate!! Sara Disterheft Sara is excited to be a stylist at Affinity Salon & Spa. She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 2007 and received an Associates Degree from Southwestern Michigan College in 2010. She then went on to Twin City Beauty College to become a cosmetologist. When time is available, she enjoys attending Aveda classes and learning new techniques. When not at work Sara enjoys going to the movies with her husband and also loves to shop! Jamie Mendlin Jamie attended Douglas J. Aveda Institute in 2008 and graduated from Paul Mitchell. Jamie's services include a variety of hair and nails. She also specializes in human hair extensions. Jamie enjoys spending time with her two little girls and husband. Jamie loves what she does and enjoys seeing others happy and confident. ESTHETICIAN Dot Bond Dot is a licensed esthetician who graduated from the Douglas J. Aveda Institute in East Lansing with honors and a service in Excellence Award. Dot recently moved back to St. Joseph after spending eleven years in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a counter manager, makeup artist and skin care specialist for several cosmetic lines at Macy's, Dillard's and Sax Fifth Avenue. Dot is trained in makeup, elemental facials, body treatments and eyebrow, lip, underarm, leg, bikini, and Brazilian waxing. She is staffed on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. MASSAGE Kelly Smith Kelly attended Everest in Kalamazoo, MI where she received her Diploma in Massage Therapy. She then went on to become Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She's also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Kelly has a passion for learning new and interesting modalities for Massage Therapy and would love to learn Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. Kelly enjoys time with family and friends and massages (of course)!!
Jeri Randall Jeri has been with Affinity Salon & Spa since the opening in 2003 and is the salon's general business manager. Her customer service expertise comes from many areas of professional businesses. Outside Affinity Salon & Spa Jeri enjoys bartending with her mother-in-law (On The Rocks) for special events including Weddings, Graduations, Retirement Parties, etc. Jeri also enjoys the beach, being with her family and friends, and is an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.  |
